Aja Essex
Aja is one of the duo operating Cicada Cinema here in Bloomington. If you’re not familiar I really can’t more highly suggest attending one of their screenings! So lovely!! I’ve been meaning to do Aja’s photo for awhile so I went ahead and just put together my studio in the kitchen (a special set up for my charming friends). It’s a tight set up, but so extremely casual that it makes photos a fun and a little easier on everyone. She was a sincere delight to photograph!!
It’s been so overcast all winter, which can be such a good and bad thing for photos! Love that all day even light, but sometimes the way that the overcast sun interacts with shadows doesn’t sit quite right with me… Either way, love these couple photos of Aja we did right outside my back door during portraits. What a star! :,) These are on medium format film!
