Joshua Tree
Hard to believe it is Christmas already. It’s been a funny year, and a rough winter. I’ve been spending some time looking through and working on photos from my trip out west with my sister, Alison, and good friend, Chris. This first selection are some of my favorite film photos from Joshua Tree. A really special place, and I feel so blessed to have spent a little time there this year. My time out in southern California was really wonderful and a big highlight of my year. Can’t believe it was just a couple months ago now, haha.
The second and last two photos in the first group were taken with the Fuji GSW 690 iii that I got just before the trip, and the rest were taken with my beloved Fuji GA645 Professional. Film for all of them was Portra 400.
After spending the afternoon and early evening (it was getting dark at like 4:30pm) in Joshua Tree, I was really hyped on the idea of going back for sunrise. So we did! We got up at 5am and drove out to Keys View to watch the sunrise. Really really wonderful! I loved watching the twinkling lights of the city and the rising sun reflect off the Sulton Sea.
I sat up my tripod and Fuji GSW690 iii to take some photos, but truth be told I didn’t do a killer job metering, so my digital photos were much nicer.
