Brick + Jason, Engagement

Went out with my friend, and fellow photographer, Brick Daniel Kyle and his fiancé, Jason, in late October and made a few engagement portraits on film. Brick and I both love film and talk photography a lot, so there really wasn’t any choice but medium format film!! It’s very meaningful to me as a queer photographer in Indiana to get to shoot a fellow midwestern queer photographer’s engagement portraits.

I enjoy making lots of different kinds of portraits, but I think my favorite is probably this style. Slowly shot on film. Classically posed, outside. Timeless, but comfortable. Intimate, but formal. There’s something very sweet about it all to me.

Brick and Jason are a very darling couple. Who couldn’t be charmed by two these two boys in their jean jackets! Their beautiful rings are custom from Holden.
