Bloomington Pride 2021
A few of my favorite photos from Pride in Bloomington, Indiana on August 28, 2021.
It was so nice to see people out and enjoying themselves on this incredibly hot day this past summer. Our Pride here in town is put on by a small group of incredibly hard working individuals, and I am continuously impressed by their work! It was lovely to volunteer and spend the day documenting the event they put together.
It had been a while since I’d photographed any drag performers, and I have to say, it feels an awful lot like photographing punk shows, haha. Everyone who performed was incredibly impressive!
As a small personal project, I also carried around my Mamiya RZ67, a medium format film camera, and made portraits of festival goers throughout the day. Carrying that sucker around in additon to my digital gear on such a hot day was no small burden, haha, but it was definitely worth it. I was so happy with the results!!
